The Ethekwini Filmmakers Association is excited to announce the new date for the 5th African Emerging Filmmakers Awards. The awards could not take place last year in December due to situations beyond the organizers' control. The new date for the awards is 27 May 2017. There is a second film submissions call out as from today the 6th of March 2017 until the 7th of April 2017.

With funding from the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund (NLDTF), the Dramatic, Artistic and Literary Rights Organisation (DALRO) and Nedbank Arts Affinity, more than 14 scholarships ranging from R30 000 to R150 000 will be awarded during 2016.
